How many weddings do you have per day?
Are we allowed to bring our own alcohol?
Yes, however, an insured bartending service must be hired to serve alcohol at the event. No self-service or sale of alcohol is permitted.
Is the venue available for exclusive use?
Yes
Can we bring our own food and beverages in to serve at the wedding?
For parties exceeding 50 guests we strongly recommend a caterer. Cooking is not allowed at the venue unless it is done outdoors. The kitchen can be used for light meal prep.
What kitchen amenities will be available?
The 1898 has a full kitchen: stove / oven with warming pad, microwave, large kitchen island, and three prep table surfaces. Two large igloos are available for ice storage the day of the event.
How long does the wedding party have at the venue?
9 AM until 11 PM
What is included in the venue rental?
Please visit our amenities page for more information on what is included and what items are extra costs.
Is there a sound system?
For indoor events, we have a whole-home Sonos sound system that can be controlled from your phone or laptop. For outdoor events, a DJ must be procured.
Can I hire my own vendors?
Yes, however each vendor must be approved. Insured bartenders are required. We will require the use of our preferred security firm, however.
Is there a backup plan for rain for an outdoor event?
THE 1898 strongly encourages a tent rental agreement be in place if there is a likely chance of rain.
Is the site handicap accessible?
Yes, the outdoor portion of the venue is handicap accessible.
Are pets allowed at the venue?
Only outdoors.
Is there parking available?
Yes, plenty!
Who sets up and breaks down tables and chairs?
Your caterer/ event supplies vendor will do this with coordination assistance from THE 1898.
How many restrooms are available?
One full restroom downstairs and one upstairs inside the venue. For larger events, THE 1898 will require Executive restroom trailers (with A/C & heat) to be rented and placed in the rear service area on the property.
Who oversees cleanup?
Your caterer/ event supplies vendor will do this with coordination assistance from THE 1898. Your caterer / vendor will oversee all kitchen/food and trash clean up. All items must be removed by 12:00 AM.
Does The 1898 have a Bridal Suite?
Yes, we have a glam room with two large bedrooms and a full bathroom for the bridal party to get ready in.
Do you have décor restrictions indoors?
Yes: Glitter, rice, silly string, confetti and gel-like substances are not permitted. No nails, screws, duct tape, or scotch tape may be used on the walls, floors or furniture. Painter’s tape is acceptable. Sparklers are not permitted.
Does the venue have a Groomsmen Suite?
The Groomsmen can use one of the bedrooms and the full restroom downstairs.
What restrictions exist for outdoor décor?
Glitter, rice, silly string, confetti, and gel-like substances are not permitted. No nails, screws, duct tape or scotch tape may be used on the walls, floors, furniture. Open flame lanterns are not permitted. No fireworks are permitted. Sparklers are permitted; however, they must be placed in buckets to safely cool off and discard.
Does THE 1898 have a glam room for hair and makeup prep?
Yes, we have a separate Glam Room equipped with three vanities and Hollywood mirrors.
Do you provide any outdoor lighting?
There is perimeter lighting around the Wedding Garden.
Is there somewhere to store wedding gifts?
Yes, we suggest you delegate someone to bring the wedding gifts to the lockable closet in the Bridal suite.
Do you provide overnight accommodations?
Yes, overnight accommodations are offered a la carte.
